How these tools differ from a rate card
A rate card gives you one number and hides the choice behind it. These tools give you a range and show which input produced the width of that range, so you can change an input rather than hope for the favourable end of it.
Where a tool cannot produce a defensible answer — an unverified threshold, a missing divisor, a category with no volume figure on file — it says so and explains which input is missing.
